Account Deletion Policy

At NamZoed, we respect your right to control your personal information. This policy outlines how you can request the deletion of your account and what happens to your data when you do so. Please read this carefully before proceeding with account deletion.

1. How to Request Account Deletion

You may request the deletion of your NamZoed account at any time through the following methods:

  • In-App Request: Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account within the NamZoed mobile application.
  • Email Request: Send an email to support@namzoed.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" including your registered mobile number and CID (Citizenship ID) for verification.
  • Customer Support: Contact our customer support team directly through the in-app chat feature or by calling our helpline.

2. Verification Process

To protect your account from unauthorized deletion requests, we require identity verification:

  • You will be asked to confirm your identity using your registered mobile number or email address.
  • For seller accounts (Tshongpas), additional verification steps may be required to ensure all pending transactions are resolved.
  • The verification process typically takes 1-2 business days.

3. What Happens to Your Data

Upon successful verification of your deletion request, the following actions will be taken:

A. Immediate Actions

  • Account Access: Your account will be immediately deactivated, and you will no longer be able to log in.
  • Public Profile: Your profile, listings, and public information will be removed from the platform.
  • Personal Information: Your name, contact details, and profile information will be deleted from our active databases.

B. Data Retained for Legal Compliance

Certain information may be retained for legal, regulatory, and security purposes:

  • Transaction Records: Financial transaction data is retained for 7 years as required by the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan (RMA) for tax and audit purposes.
  • KYC/AML Data: Identity verification documents and anti-money laundering records are retained as mandated by Bhutanese financial regulations.
  • Legal Disputes: If your account is involved in any ongoing legal proceedings, relevant data will be retained until the matter is resolved.
  • Fraud Prevention: Certain anonymized data may be retained to prevent fraud and protect the NamZoed community.

C. Anonymized Data

Some data may be anonymized and aggregated for statistical analysis and platform improvement. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

4. Before You Delete Your Account

Please consider the following before requesting account deletion:

  • Pending Transactions: Ensure all your purchases and sales are completed or cancelled. Sellers must fulfill or cancel all pending orders.
  • Wallet Balance: Withdraw any remaining balance from your NamZoed Trusted Wallet. Funds cannot be recovered after account deletion.
  • Backup Data: Download any important information, such as order history, invoices, or chat conversations that you wish to keep.
  • Subscriptions: Cancel any active subscriptions or premium features to avoid future charges.
  • Reviews & Ratings: Your reviews and ratings will be anonymized but may remain on the platform to maintain the integrity of our rating system.

5. Seller-Specific Requirements

If you are a registered seller (Tshongpa), additional requirements must be met:

  • Active Listings: All active product listings and services must be removed or deactivated before deletion.
  • Order Fulfillment: All orders must be completed, shipped, or cancelled with customer consent.
  • Financial Settlement: All pending payments must be settled, and disputes must be resolved.
  • Tax Obligations: Ensure all tax-related documentation has been downloaded and that you have fulfilled your tax obligations with relevant authorities.
  • Business License: If applicable, your business information will be retained as required by Bhutanese commerce regulations.

6. Processing Timeline

  • Buyer Accounts: Deletion requests are typically processed within 7-14 business days.
  • Seller Accounts: Due to additional verification and compliance requirements, seller account deletions may take 14-30 business days.
  • Notification: You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been successfully deleted.

7. Cancellation of Deletion Request

You may cancel your deletion request at any time before it is processed by contacting our support team. Once the deletion is completed, your account and data cannot be recovered.

8. Account Reactivation

Once your account is deleted, you may create a new account using the same mobile number or email address. However, your previous account history, ratings, reviews, and transaction records will not be transferred to the new account.

9. Data Portability

Before deleting your account, you have the right to request a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable format. To request your data, please contact support@namzoed.com with the subject line "Data Portability Request."

Important Notice

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all your data, including order history, saved addresses, wallet balance, and communication history. Please ensure you have backed up any important information before proceeding with the deletion request.
